Sunshine and Fireworks

Today started out with lots of walking around some spectacular southern coast land.

Above are the cliffs known as the Seven Sisters and is similar to the White cliffs at Dover. It was really warm when out of the breeze and the views quite breathtaking. Unfortunately couldn't see France today.

Much of the rocks found on the beach are used to cover walls of many houses in the area.

Th light house at Beachy Head, a popular spot for tourists and locals. We walked from Seven Sisters round to Beachy Head.

In Hastings we saw many old buildings but the most intriguing were these rather tall black wooden structures. They are net sheds for storing fishing nets and equipment. Nets used to be made of organic materials, unlike the nylon of today, and so needed storing and drying each day to protect them.

Last stop for the day was in Eastbourne where Matt played in a concert with the Patcham Brass Band and their final piece was the 1812 Overture accompanied with fireworks. A long but pleasant day.
